Important Knots

Stevedore's Knot:
Use this knot at the end of your flying lines.  It creates a ball with a lot of girth, to attach your lark's head knot to.  Itis easier to untie and stronger than the figure 8.  However, it shortens the line's length a few inches.

Figure 8 Knot:
 It can reduce the rated line strength by nearly 50%.  This is not too big of a problem if your spectra line has sheathing around it.

This is used to make a lark's head knot or girthing hitch to hold on to the Stevedore's knot

Bowline Knot

This knot is often used to connect your de-power strap to your trim loop (chicken loop) line.

Tug Boat Bowline

These knots are used to hold down cargo in the back of your truck.

If you are around water a lot it might be smart to keep some rope available in case of an emergency.
