Your kite position changes with the wind speed and direction. The direction of your body and/or board should adjust to where your kite is. Using a landmark to kite to does means you'll be off course when the wind changes.
Your weight, riding style and how powered you like to ride will determine the board that is best for you. Ask to trade boards with someone at the beach for 15 minutes to learn what works for you.
Your kite chooses it's line length. Each kite will fly best with a certain length line. In general, 6 and 7m kites may like a 21m line. A 12m may fly best with 23 or 24m lines. A 17m kite may like 25 or 27m lines.
